Helpful information about Best Barns shipping process.
When your shed kit has shipped you will receive an email notification. Depending on the shed you ordered there may be 2 separate deliveries required to complete the shipping process. Regardless if you have 1 or 2 deliveries the email notification will give you the carrier’s name along with a tracking number. You can track your shed by visiting the carrier’s website (Ex. ABF Freight) and entering the tracking number in the track your shipment area. Or, you may call the carrier directly and provide customer service with the tracking number. Once the shipment arrives at the final destination terminal the carrier will call you, usually about 24 hours in advance, to make a delivery appointment to your location. The time frame will be large window of time(Ex. 11-5p.m.) but you may call the carrier on day of delivery for an ETA of the drivers route to you. If you can not be present for delivery make arrangements for “drop without signature” with the terminal when scheduling appointment. Otherwise we suggest you be there for delivery and additional help is a good idea. Please understand your shed kit can way several thousand pounds and helping the driver unload may be necessary. The carrier provides lift gate service and end of driveway. Moving the kit beyond end of driveway to desired location is the shed owners responsibility. The driver will lower your shed to the ground with a lift-gate and push off with the pallet jack.
Some items you should be aware of when before signing for the delivery. The pallets should not be double stacked or loaded length-ways into the trailer. The longest length should be loaded side to side in the trailer. If the pallets have not been loaded correctly the driver may not be able to unload. In this case call Best Barns 800-245-1577 directly to get the item rescheduled for a correct delivery. Once unloaded inspect for outside damage. If you suspect there may be damage sign the delivery receipt “damaged or damaged until further inspection”. If you are in doubt please contact Best Barns immediately to help resolve any issues. Damaged material can be replaced call us. If your shed kit is severely damaged refuse delivery, take pictures and Best Barns.
Orders that require 2 deliveries will have the second delivery completed by a local home center. You will be provided with the date of this delivery. Typically the home centers driver will call on the day of, usually within a 1/2 hour prior to arriving.
