Traditional style DIY barn kit
The Roanoke DIY barn kit provides storage, a great workshop, a barn for your horse, livestock or whatever your needs may be in a large building. This is NOT a pole building. Built with 2×4 construction studs are spaced 16in. o.c. Trusses are 2×6 spaced 24in. o.c.
The first floor has 7ft. 5in. headroom to bottom of 2×8 floor joists. Loft area has 7ft. 1in. headroom at center of structure. Both floors offer an unobstructed space so to provide the maximum amount of area to utilize as you see fit. During construction you may add interior walls in the locations of your choosing.
Because this is a kit that is built by the homeowner you may choose to purchase the type, size and placement of windows or additional entry doors. Order with the optional stair package ( not included ) for access to the second floor or buy they style you desire locally.
Shingles not included. Paint by homeowner.

2×6 roof trusses are shipped pre-cut for precise field assembly. Engineered to withstand high wind loads of 115 mph and heavy snow loads of 30 lbs. psf. Trusses provide clear span with a generous 7ft. 1in. headroom in the center. |

Primed 3/8″ wood siding, with vertical grooves, creates an attractive plank look.
Smart Panel, manufactured by Lousiana-Pacific, creates the visual beauty of real wood with the strength and
durability of an engineered product.
The siding is made from wood strands, pressed into a resin saturated substrate, superior to plywood.
A cedar texture is embossed into the substrate, free from knot holes and patches. Other features include:
- Primed, ready for paint color of your choice. Latex acrylic paint recommended.
- Treated with Composibor (from U.S. Borax) prevents fungal decay and insect damage.
- Backed with a 50 year limited warranty.
Our Roanoke barn provides an expansive 2nd level loft floor.
Optional Windows
Single hung aluminum 18″ x 36″ windows provide light and ventilation. Lockable frames are durable and easy to operate. Screens limit birds and insects. Comes with wood shutters ready to stain or paint.

Stairs Included
The staircase is now enclosed with a second interior wall.
Our custom staircase can be installed along in either corner of the back wall opposite the doors. The upper landing is centered to the roof peak so as to provide maximum headroom when ascending the stairs.
Construction of a 24′ Richmond (sister model to the Roanoke). Customers intended use is for a vacation home. Majority of work was done by husband and wife.
